Dr. M. Andrea Scorciapino

Dr. M. Andrea Scorciapino, born on October 2, 1980, in Italy, is an accomplished Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Cagliari.

With a deep passion for exploring the intricate relationships between molecular structure, interactions, and function, Dr. Scorciapino has made significant contributions to the field of physical chemistry. His work primarily focuses on studying molecules with biological and pharmacological relevance, utilizing advanced techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, fluorescence and infrared spectroscopy, microtensiometry, numerical modeling, molecular dynamics, and Monte Carlo simulations. These methods have enabled him to investigate the behavior of both natural and synthetic molecules, as well as adsorption and diffusion phenomena.

Dr. Scorciapino’s academic journey has been rich and varied. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences and Technologies from the University of Cagliari, where he also earned his Master’s degree in Chemistry with honors. In addition to his scientific pursuits, Dr. Scorciapino is dedicated to sharing his knowledge with the next generation of chemists. He lectures on NMR Spectroscopy and Physical Chemistry to undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students, fostering a deep understanding of these complex subjects.
